Tips for importing your own topics and exercises

In this article, you'll learn how to prepare your documents for import and what to do if something goes wrong.

Requirements for an optimal import

Since the import is AI-powered, there's no guarantee of an exact 1:1 transfer. To get the best result, your PDF should meet the following criteria:

Technical requirements

  • File size & scope: Maximum of 5 MB, 30 pages, 100 questions, and 30,000 characters.

  • Quality: High resolution and good contrast between text and background. PDFs created directly on a computer work best.

  • Orientation: The document should be readable (portrait or landscape) and not rotated.

Layout & structure

  • Simplicity: Avoid unnecessary columns, complex backgrounds, or hidden text. A clear separation between text and images is ideal.

  • Exercise structure: Clearly separate questions from answers.

  • Solutions & points: Mark correct answers directly in the exercise (e.g., with checkboxes) instead of using separate answer sheets. State the points directly with each question.

Troubleshooting and feedback

If an import doesn't go perfectly, you can fix most errors directly in the simpleclub Editor.

Give feedback

After each import, you can rate the process in a feedback dialog. Your feedback (e.g., on errors with images or text) helps us keep improving the AI-powered feature.
