Allowed file sizes and formats for video uploads

In this article, you will learn which technical requirements your video files must meet so that an upload to our system succeeds.

Technical requirements at a glance

To ensure optimal performance and compatibility, fixed limits and allowed formats apply to all video attachments.

Maximum file size

  • The maximum size for a single file is 200 MB.

Supported video MIME types and file extensions

The system automatically validates the file type during upload. Currently, the following video MIME types and their corresponding file extensions are approved for upload:

MIME type

Typical file extension

video/mp4

.mp4

video/webm

.webm

video/quicktime

.mov

video/x-msvideo

.avi

video/x-ms-asf

.wmv

Important: If your file has a different MIME type, validation fails during the upload and the file is blocked.

Troubleshooting tips

If your upload fails, please check the following:

  • Check the file size: Make sure the video file is no larger than 200 MB. If it is larger, compress the video before uploading.

  • Convert the format: If your video is in an unsupported format (e.g., MKV), convert it to a standard format such as MP4.

Tip: If you regularly need a different file format that isn't listed here, please contact our support. We can extend the validation to include other common types if needed.
