Find training content and switch jobs

A guide to finding training content and, as a trainer, switching between jobs and their job-specific content.

Find training content

To get a specific overview of all relevant content, first click “Topics” (folder icon) in the menu bar. Three different sections appear there:

1. Your training (learning fields)

This section contains all subject-specific content that's relevant for the selected training job.

The topics are clearly divided into:

Job-specific content: Here you'll find all content that's specifically relevant for the selected job. It follows the official IHK framework curriculum.

Economics and social studies: More important content that matters for training in general, e.g. basics of economic activity, demand, and basic economic terms.

Exam preparation for your job: This includes various exam parts of the training. It covers several exam parts on the specific training content (GAP 1...) as well as exams on economics and social studies.

Courses for your job: Contains various courses that meet the requirements of the chosen job. They are based on the current training framework plans as well as relevant standards such as ISO-GPS.

2. Basics

This section contains all the important basic school subjects your trainees can use to deepen their knowledge.

  • The content is tailored to the respective training field.

  • It covers subjects such as math, German, and English.

  • Benefit: This is especially helpful when trainees have questions about basic topics like the rule of three or area calculations and need to review them.

3. Competencies

In addition, cross-disciplinary topics are offered that are helpful for personal and professional development.

Study tips: This contains content on learning strategies and techniques that help trainees prepare optimally for their exams.

Life skills: Here trainees find various cross-disciplinary skills that can be useful for professional and personal development (e.g. )

Change the training job

Temporarily change the training job in the Topics section:

If you're a trainer responsible for multiple training jobs, you can switch between the content in the “Topics” section (folder icon in the menu bar) at any time:

  1. In the Topics section, click the menu items at the top right.

  2. All available training jobs are displayed.

  3. Select the new training job whose specific content you want to see.

  4. The content and sections in the overview are updated right away.

    Note: This only changes the overview in the Topics section. The job in your user profile doesn't change.

Permanently change the training job in your profile:

To change your job and, with it, the content that's shown to you by default, follow these steps:

  1. Go to your profile (person icon). You'll find it at the bottom left (web app) or bottom left (mobile app).

  2. Your profile overview is divided into different categories. Under “School & subject”, you'll find “Job” in the 3rd row.

  3. Click the job and change it.

  4. Confirm your selection with “OK”, and your profile and your default content are updated.

Important: You can switch between jobs to see the content that fits each one. However, only one training job can be selected at a time. 🔄
