FAQ: Practice test and AI assistant

Frequently asked questions about the practice test and the AI assistant

What is a practice test?

The practice test is a trainee-driven self-practice format on topics the trainee chooses, with feedback while working through it. An optional "exam mode" toggle adds a timer and shows feedback only at the end for a run that's closer to a real exam.

How does the practice test choose which questions to show?

The practice test puts together each session from the chosen topics according to fixed rules: a difficulty mix (about 30% easy / 60% medium / 10% hard, where available), an even distribution across the chosen topics, a small share of AI-generated questions alongside simpleclub's own, and a preference for questions the trainee hasn't seen yet. The same logic applies when starting from a single topic, multiple topics, or a learning plan.

Does the practice test adapt to a trainee's weaknesses?

The practice test doesn't use an adaptive weakness model or spaced repetition. It prefers questions that haven't been attempted yet – once all questions in a topic have been seen, questions that were answered incorrectly are not deliberately shown before correct ones. For a structured overview of weak spots, use Reports (understanding level per topic).

"Test me": Are the questions always the same? Are there always 5 questions?

No. The "Test me" questions are generated live by the AI each time, based on the current topic and its explanation – there is no fixed question pool, so the questions vary from session to session.

The number isn't fixed either: the assistant asks "several" questions and keeps going as long as the trainee keeps answering (usually between one and a few). The questions stay closely tied to the topic currently being studied.

How does the search bar match terms to jobs?

The job matching isn't shown in the search bar because simpleclub stores content by topic (e.g., "Reaming") rather than by job. The actual training job assignment (e.g., mechatronics technician) happens in the background through the training learning plans, since a topic is often relevant for several jobs.
