Reset a user's password

How to help your trainees reset their password.

Reset the password on your own

Trainees can reset their password themselves in the sign-in area, the usual way.

Step by step:

  1. Sign out
Make sure you're currently not signed in.

  2. Open the Home page
Go to the platform's Home page. There you'll see the area for signing in or registering.

  3. Select "Reset password"
    Click "Reset password" there.

  4. Enter your email address
Enter the email address your account is registered with and confirm.

  5. Reset the password via the link

You'll receive an email with a link that lets you reset the password yourself.

  6. Enter a new password

Enter a new password and confirm.

How to send a password reset link

To give a user the chance to set a new password, follow these steps:

  1. In the main menu on the left, go to the Users section.

  2. Select the relevant user (trainee) from the list to open the detail view.

  3. Scroll down to the Permissions section.

  4. Click the Send password reset email button.

As soon as you click the button, the system automatically triggers the following actions:

  • Confirmation: A confirmation message appears in the bottom left corner of the screen: "An email with a link to set a new password was sent to the account."

  • Delivery: The user immediately receives a system-generated email at the email address saved in their profile.

  • Action by the user: The email contains a secure link that the trainee can use to set a new password on their own.

Important general notes

Important: For security reasons, the links in the password reset email are only valid for a limited time. If the user doesn't click the link in time, you'll need to start the process again.

  • Check the email address: Make sure the correct email address is saved in the user's profile, otherwise the link won't arrive.

  • Spam folder: If the user doesn't receive an email, ask them to check the spam folder of their inbox as well.
