Set and manage start dates for learning plans

With the start date feature, you can plan your learning plan assignments in advance. A fixed schedule (start and end date of a learning plan) automatically applies to all assigned learners.

How the start date works

When you create or edit a learning plan, you set the start and end date right away.

  • Start date: Set to today by default, but you can change it to any date in the future.

  • End date: Still required.

  • Shared schedule: The start and end date are defined at the plan level and apply to everyone assigned to this learning plan.

Important: A learning plan always has exactly one fixed schedule. If you want to start the same content for different groups or cohorts at different times, create or duplicate a separate learning plan for each.

Create a learning plan with a start date

  1. Open the Library and click + Learning Plan in the top right.

  2. Choose whether you want to use a template or start with an empty learning plan.

  3. In the top right, enter the date you want in the Start date field.

  4. Adjust the end date: The total duration of the learning plan updates automatically.

  5. Add the topics and content you want to the learning plan.

  6. Click Create Learning Plan in the bottom right.

Edit the start date of an existing learning plan

  1. In the Library, go to the learning plan you want to change.

  2. Click Edit in the top right.

  3. Change the start date or end date using the calendar menu.

  4. Save your changes.

Manage scheduled learning plans in the Library

To keep track of upcoming training, the Library offers new filter and sort options:

  • "Upcoming" tab: Here you'll find all learning plans whose start date is in the future.

  • Sorting: Use the dropdown menu in the top right to sort the overview by Start date or End Date.

Tip: If you set up your training plan for the whole year in advance, use the Upcoming tab to check the timeline of all cohorts at a glance.
